SUNREF Nigeria seeks to improve access to energy through improved access to affordable finance for renewable energy technologies that will improve lives, increase economic opportunities and support various sectors such as industry and agriculture. The SUNREF program comprises a long-term line of credit from Agence Française de Développement (AFD) to each partner bank, a Technical Assistance component funded by the European Union (EU) and an Investment Grant also funded by the EU. The Technical assistance component of the Program will bring support to the stakeholders (banks, project sponsors and Manufacturers Association of Nigeria) to identify, assess and carry out renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. In partnership with local partner banks, SUNREF Nigeria offers the private sector competitive loans and technical assistance for structuring their green investments so they can seize the opportunities of green finance.
